Danny Schofield has returned to Rotherham after his loan deal with Accrington expired.

The midfielder made eight appearances for Stanley after moving to the Crown Ground on a temporary basis in September.

Manager Leam Richardson paid tribute to Schofield, whose time in Lancashire was disrupted by injuries.

He told Accrington's official website: "Danny's a great lad and I wish him well.

"He did great for us, even though he struggled with a few injuries, but it's the nature of the loan system that players have to go back."
