Accrington have bolstered their defensive options ahead of Saturday's game with Chesterfield by signing Wigan's Adam Buxton on a one-month loan.

Buxton, 21, is yet to appear for Latics' first team and recently spent time on loan with Burton, another Sky Bet League Two club.

Stanley, who are without first-choice right-back Nicky Hunt for two games due to a suspension, announced the move on Saturday morning ahead of their meeting with the high-flying Spireites, who are managed by former Accrington boss Paul Cook.
