Arsenal's Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta has praised his team after they climbed to their highest place in the table this season.

The Gunners secured a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Emirates on Saturday to extend their unbeaten record in the Premier League to an impressive eight games.

Having endured a slow start to the season, with the pressure building on their veteran manager Arsene Wenger, the north London outfit have been one of the form sides in the top flight in recent weeks.

Arsenal's fine form has seen them leapfrog their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur into third place in the Premier League table and they can be backed to finish there using your free bet.

Former Everton star Arteta has hailed the squad for turning their fortunes around this term, as they hope to secure a Champions League qualification place.

He told Arsenal Player: "To be honest I was really surprised with the spirit when I came here - even when we were down it was so good.

"It is something you rely on because if you start blaming each other and shouting at each other it is not good.

"This group has always been positive, the manager has always been positive with the players and we have kept at it."
