Wigan face a battle to keep James McCarthy with Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton all showing an interest in the midfielder.
McCarthy is fast becoming one of the most highly-rated midfielders in the Premier League and rival clubs are starting to form an orderly queue now that the transfer window is open.
Latics boss Roberto Martinez cannot speak highly enough of the player and although he believes he has the potential to go to the very top, he believes the player would be best off staying where he is for now.
However that will not stop the likes of Arsenal making a bid for the youngster and if the price is right, just like with Victor Moses, Wigan will not stand in his way.
Reports claim interested parties are willing to pay £8million but Wigan will hold out for more than that, especially after Liverpool paid almost double that to sign Joe Allen from Swansea in the summer.
