Santi Cazorla says Atletico Madrid did not make an offer during the summer and insists he is very happy with Arsenal.
Rumours of a return to Spain were rife throughout the summer and reports claimed that Atletico Madrid had made an approach, something which has been denied by Atletico club president Enrique Cerezo.
Cazorla himself has now backed up Cerezo's denial by insisting a bid was not made.
"No, because there was never anything in that," he told Marca when asked if he took any notice of the rumours. "Like Cerezo said, there was no offer made and I was always calm about it."
The 28-year-old only signed for the Gunners just over 12 months ago and although he has not ruled out returning to Spain one day, he does not have any plans just yet.
"There has been a lot of speculation about a move to Atletico Madrid but I'm very happy at Arsenal, I have a contract there and I start training on Monday," he said.
"Perhaps I will return to Spain one day, but right now it's very unlikely."
