Giroud stays defiant

Olivier Giroud has again insisted the goals will come despite his failure to find the back of the net against Montpellier.

The Frenchman has yet to score for Arsenal since signing in the summer and was hoping to break his duck against his former club in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

However Lukas Podolski and Gervinho got the goals as Arsenal fought back to win 2-1. Giroud refused to be downbeat though and after setting up Podolski for the equaliser he says it is only a matter of time before the goals start to flow for him.

"Look I didn't get the goal which would have helped me and definitely kick-started my season, but I was decisive by providing an assist for Lukas Podolski," he told reporters after the game.

"I'm still lacking a bit of rhythm, so it's hard to play 90 minutes. But I will be better, I have to keep playing big games. We have a good team and the competition between the players is healthy.

"We play a lot of games so I'm not worried. I will keep training hard but I remain confident."
