Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal for QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar, with Vito Mannone on the brink of leaving the Emirates.
Brazilian shot-stopper Cesar was strongly linked with the Gunners earlier in the summer, whilst Roma and AC Milan have also expressed an interest in the 33-year-old.
But the former Inter Milan star has expressed his desire to remain in London and Arsenal are understood to have stepped up their bid to conclude the deal as soon as possible.
Cesar is expected to sort out his club future when he returns from the Confederations Cup in Brazil, with QPR looking for a fee in the region of £2million.
Meanwhile, Mannone looks set to end his seven-year spell with the Gunners as Sunderland are understood to have agreed a fee with Arsenal for the Italian as they seek a replacement for Simon Mignolet.
