Gunners eye Barca starlet

Last Updated: Tue, 10 Dec 2013 05:50

Arsenal are reported to be leading the race to sign Barcelona starlet Antonio Sanabria, who is looking to leave the Nou Camp.

The highly-rated 17-year-old is reported to have rejected the offer of a new contract with the Catalan giants and the Gunners hope to capitalise by making a move.

Sanabria still has 18 months left to run on his current deal but there is a release clause in it and if Arsenal offer just £2.5million they could have a deal, reports have claimed.

Arsenal will face competition for the young forward as Italian side Roma are also keen but Arsene Wenger will be confident of fending them off if Barca decide to let him go.
