Liverpool have reportedly turned down a £30million bid from rivals Arsenal for the services of star striker Luis Suarez.
Although the Reds have not confirmed reports of a bid, they are thought to have instantly rejected the offer from Arsene Wenger for a player who they paid Ajax in the region of £22m for in January 2011.
The controversial Uruguayan has said he wants to leave Anfield after becoming disillusioned with life in England because of the treatment he has received at the hands of the press.
Real Madrid had been expected to lead the pursuit of the 26-year-old but, despite the fact he would love to move to them, they have shown no interest up to date.
Instead it is Arsenal who have shown their hand with a massive offer for a player, who will miss the first six matches of next season as he continues to serve his ten match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, as the Gunners prepare to mount a serious title challenge.
