Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan and Bayer Leverkusen's Lars Bender are the latest German stars to be linked with Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already added to his German contingent at the Emirates Stadium with the club record signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day.
However, as the French tactician is keen to bring in a holding midfielder when the January transfer window opens for business, it appears the he will raid the Bundesliga market.
Either 22-year-old Gundogan, who played a key role in Dortmund's march to last season's Champions League final, or 24-year-old Bender of Leverkusen are both said to be top of his wanted list.
If Wenger successfully signs one of those players, he will bring the number of Germans in north London to seven following on from Ozil, Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker, Serge Gnabry, Gedion Zelalem and Thomas Eisfeld.
