Gunners lead Hazard chase

Arsenal look set to win the race to sign Eden Hazard but they will have to wait until the summer to land the Lille forward.

Hazard has been regarded as one of the most promising young talents in European football since he made his Lille debut as a 16-year-old in 2007 and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been frequently linked with a swoop for the Belgian starlet.

The likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Liverpool have all been tipped to make a move for Hazard but the 20-year-old has previously admitted he would welcome a move to the Emirates due to Wenger's record of developing youngsters and handing them first-team opportunities.

It would seem that Arsenal remain the favourites to secure Hazard but Lille will not allow him to leave in January, while Hazard's agent has also previously revealed he will stick with the French club until the end of the season, as the club are currently the Ligue 1 league leaders.

However, Wenger does appear well placed to sign Hazard in the summer and a bid of around £15million could be enough to persuade Lille to cash in on their prize asset.
