Gunners linked with striker swoop

ArsenalArsenal are being strongly linked with former Birmingham loan striker Mauro Zarate and could bring him back to the Premiership.

The talented youngster quit Blues following their relegation from the Premier League but he has expressed a desire to stay in the top tier of English football and Arsenal would certainly appeal.

Zarate, who was on loan from Qatari outfit Al Sadd, revealed he had spoken to Manchester United striker and fellow Argentinian Carlos Tevez about the future.

"I was living an hour away from the house of Carlos Tevez and I went to have tea with him one afternoon," said the 21-year-old.

"He encouraged me to stay as he says the Premiership is a fantastic league. He really puts in the effort on the pitch and won over the fans. Obviously I would want people to love me the way they love him."
