Arsenal are being linked with a sensational swoop for Liverpool striker Luiz Suarez after bookmakers suspended betting on the move.
Doubts have surrounded the future of the controversial striker after he revealed he wanted to quit England for a move abroad, with Real Madrid hot favourites to sign him.
However it has now emerged that Arsenal could launch an audacious bid to keep the striker in England and are ready to match Liverpool's £25million valuation.
Bookmakers suspended the market on the possibility of Suarez heading to the Emirates Stadium after a flurry of big bets in Spain suggested someone was in the know.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to land a new striker and with his attempts to land Gonzalo Higuain continuing to stall, it looks as though he could be about to turn his attentions to Suarez.
The move would go down like a lead balloon at Anfield especially after the player claimed he only wants to leave Liverpool because of the treatment he receives from the English press.
