Gunners missing Wilshere

Last Updated: Wed, 06 Nov 2013 07:05

Arsenal are without midfielder Jack Wilshere for the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

Arsene Wenger confirmed Wilshere will remain in London to recover from an ankle injury, which sidelined him in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

The 21-year-old missed Arsenal's training session on Tuesday morning due to the recurring problem but is expected to return for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Full-back Kieran Gibbs is another not involved after he sustained a hip injury during the second half on Saturday.

Midfielder Mathieu Flamini is not yet expected back from his groin injury, while Theo Walcott may be available for Sunday's trip to Old Trafford as he steps up recovery following minor abdominal surgery.
