Gunners plot new move for Gourcuff

Arsenal are believed to be planning a fresh move for Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Gunners tried unsuccessfully to land Gourcuff last year and now reports are suggesting that Arsene Wenger is ready to renew his interest in the player as he looks to get his side's season back on track.

Wenger had made no secret of his admiration for the France international who he has been tracking for at least the last two years and it's thought the French club are now willing to let him go if the price is right, although Arsenal could face competition for his services from AC Milan.

Lyon are currently experiencing financial problems and their president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed last month that star names may have to be sold to balance their books.

Aulas said: "We're planning to sell two or three players for a total of £24million.

'If he (Gourcuff) returns to the highest level and he wants to go, then there could be a transfer."
