Gunners rocked by double blow

ArsenalArsenal have been hit by the news William Gallas and Robin van Persie have picked up injuries on international duty.

Gallas is reported to have torn a thigh muscle while training with France ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Romania, while van Persie has a hamstring problem.

Van Persie will stay with the Dutch squad and could even play against Norway on Wednesday but the real concern is over Gallas, who is due to jet back to England.

If the reports over his thigh injury are correct, the Frenchman could spend a decent spell on the sidelines and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger faces an anxious wait.

Arsenal are next in action against Everton on October 18 but it is far too early to say if the duo will be fit for the visit of the Toffees.
