Arsenal scouts watched FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius in action on Friday night fuelling rumours a move is in the pipeline.
The highly-rated 20-year-old has impressed for Copenhagen this season when firing home 16 goals and the Gunners along with Manchester United are keeping tabs on his situation.
Rumours were rife that Gunners scouts would check him out again as Denmark took on the Czech Republic on Friday night and that turned out to be the case.
Denmark ran out 3-0 winners and watching scouts would have been impressed as Cornelius got his name on the score sheet. When quizzed about Arsenal's interest after the game, the player admitted: "It is a huge pat on the back."
A fee in the region of £5million will be enough to secure a deal for the 6ft 4in striker but the Gunners face strong competition from United who could also launch a summer move.
