Gunners sweat on key injury

Arsenal face an anxious 24 hours to discover the full extent of the ankle injury suffered by Nicklas Bendtner.

The Danish international striker suffered a sprained ankle in training while on international duty this week but has been told there is no serious damage.

It was first feared that he might have suffered a break but that was soon dispelled by the Danes and Arsene Wenger will be relieved to hear the injury isn't as serious.

However, it will still be another day before the full extent of the damage is known by the Danish medical team.

Wenger will be keeping his fingers crossed that Bendtner is not sidelined for too long. After failing to bring in any new faces on deadline day he can ill afford injuries.
