Gunners target strike ace

Arsenal are reported to be weighing up a move for Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano in the January window.

Arsene Wenger believes the Gunners are struggling in attack following the departure of Robin van Persie to Manchester United and he is keen to draft in more reinforcements.

The 25-year-old has netted an impressive 45 goals in 107 games for the Ukrainian club and Wenger sent scouts to watch him in action when Shakhtar took on Chelsea in the Champions League last week.

Wenger is keen to get him on board but will have to move players out first and any deal could hinge on whether or not he can get Marouane Chamakh off the wage bill.

Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested in the player so Wenger will face strong competition for his services should he pursue a transfer in the new year.
