Arsenal's hopes of landing Younes Belhanda have been boosted by the news Montpellier say the midfielder is free to move in the summer.
The Moroccan playmaker is said to be high on Arsene Wenger's wanted list as he looks to bolster his midfield and the French club have cleared the way for his departure.
The 23-year-old almost joined Turkish side Fenerbahce in the January transfer window but the two clubs could not agree a fee and he ended up staying with Montpellier.
However, a move looks sure to happen in the summer and Arsenal will be encouraged to hear the thoughts of Montpellier's president Louis Nicollin, who is happy for him to leave.
"Bedimo and Belhanda can leave. I am waiting for different offers," he revealed. "Apart from those two, we can keep the rest of the squad. Utaka can also leave, but he is expensive."
The Gunners will face competition for Belhanda's services as Fenerbahce are sure to resurrect their interest, while Tottenham are also known to be in the hunt.
