Arsenal are ready to increase their offer for Luis Suarez to £35million in an attempt to lure him away from Liverpool.
The Gunners have already had one bid of £30million rejected but boss Arsene Wenger is determined to land his man and will go back with a new improved offer.
Suarez is now said to be Wenger's top priority as his attempts to bring Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain continue to falter.
The Gunners are struggling to agree a fee with Real for the Argentina international and Wenger will now put all his effort in trying to bring Suarez to the Emirates Stadium.
Suarez has already admitted he is flattered by Arsenal's interest and it looks as though he would jump at the chance of a move to the Gunners if the two clubs can agree on a fee.
Chelsea are also keen and are willing to pay £40million but Suarez would favour a switch to Arsenal if Liverpool back down and grant him his wish of a move away.
