Gunners track strike ace

Last Updated: Sun, 13 Oct 2013 04:50

Arsenal are among the clubs showing an interest in Porto striker Jackson Martinez, who is valued at £20million.

The 27-year-old has been in fine form for the Portuguese side since joining them 18 months ago and his 33 goals in 37 games has not gone unnoticed throughout Europe.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keeping his eye on the market as his strikers continue to fire blanks and a move for Martinez could be on the cards in January if things do not improve.

Arsenal are also on the look out for a new striker after missing out on Chelsea attacker Demba Ba and as well as Martinez, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also keen on Karim Benzema.

Tottenham are a striker light and are also in the hunt meaning a three-way battle for his services could be on the cards when the transfer window re-opens.
