Russia ace Andrei Arshavin's agent has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Arsenal which will infuriate Chelsea.

The Gunners and the Blues, plus Barcelona, are thought to be rivalling each other for the Zenit St Petersburg playmaker who fears an asking price of £24m could prohibit a switch to a better league.

And now Arshavin's representative has encouraged Arsenal to make a bid after an unnamed Premier League outfit saw an opening £19m offer snubbed last week.

Dennis Lachter told The Mirror: "Andrei is desperate to join Arsenal. His style of play would suit them perfectly."

The Gunners need to replace Mathieu Flamini after his defection to Milan, while Gilberto Silva and Alexander Hleb have one foot out of the Emirates exit door, with Panathinaikos and Barcelona their respective destinations.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly desperate to add Arshavin to his squad so his agent's comment will not have gone done too well at Stamford Bridge.
