Arsenal have been warned off making a move for Ajax starlet Joel Veltman as the young defender is not for sale.

The 22-year-old has been a revelation for Ajax this season as they look to be on course to win another league title in Holland, and his form has not gone unnoticed throughout Europe.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the clubs said to be interested but Ajax supremo and former Gunners star, Marc Overmars, has insisted the player is going nowhere.

The same can be said of Davy Klaassen as clubs also line up to sign the talented 22-year-old midfielder.

"We are constantly working on a puzzle and every time you have it almost complete, it can fall apart, because a piece is snapped up," Overmars said.

"But I'm going to the gate and lie in front of it when they come for Joel Veltman or Davy Klaassen. I love Ajax being attractive for a transfer, but these guys do not get out of here."

Overmars also says they plan to offer new extended contracts to the duo in order to fight off rival interest.

"We have the intention to break open the contracts, and then upgrade and extend," Overmars added.
