Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti has played down specualtion that he is on the verge of moving to Arsenal in the transfer window.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been in the market to try and find an established number one for the past couple of season but struggled to find someone of the right quality.
It is understood that Wenger made an approach for the Italy international while he was still with Cagliari prior to his move to Lazio in 2011, although he opted to stay in his homeland.
The north London club are also believed to be looking at QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar who is looking for a way out of the relegated side.
