Bacary Sagna has given his clearest indication yet he wants to sign a new deal with Arsenal, insisting he loves the club.
The France international will fall out of contract in the summer and so far there has been little movement in negotiations between the two parties on fresh terms.
Manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to see the 31-year-old sign a new deal and is reportedly ready to break his own rule about not offering players over 30 contracts longer than 12 months to see him stay.
Inter Milan, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen on taking Sagna away from the Emirates Stadium but the right-back has now stated that he would prefer to extend his seven-year association with the Gunners.
"I love Arsenal, I love playing for Arsenal, I love my team," he told the Mirror. "Arsenal are the most followed team in France and I remember I used to watch them when I was in France so it was a pleasure to play for them, so why leave?
"It's great here. It was like a dream when I joined the club because I used to follow Arsenal when I was in France and then I had the opportunity to join them and it's a pleasure to play for the team."
