Arsenal have secured the future of Aaron Ramsey after the 18-year-old penned a new long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsey has yet to break into the Gunners' first-team on a regular basis since joining from Cardiff in a £5million deal last summer but boss Arsene Wenger believes it is only a matter of time.

The Frenchman is delighted with Ramsey's progress and believes he could be a star of the future.

"Aaron made a very good contribution in his first season and he showed that he is a very intelligent player with great quality," said Wenger. "He is still only 18 and we are really looking forward to seeing him develop with us in the forthcoming years."
