Jack Wilshere is the latest Arsenal starlet to sign a new long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The highly-rated 17-year-old, who featured heavily in the club's Carling Cup games last term, has impressed Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in the eight first-team matches he has been involved in, while he is also a big part of the youth and reserve teams.

Wilshere made his debut in a 4-0 win at Blackburn last September, when he was just 16, and he scored his first goal for the club in a League Cup win against Sheffield United that same month.

The young midfielder's decision to sign a new deal comes a day after Aaron Ramsey committed his future to the club.
