Arsenal striker Park Chu-Young will not have to return to South Korea to complete his national service for at least another 10 years.

The 26-year-old joined Lille back in 2009 before moving to Arsenal two years later and South Korea's Military Manpower Administration has announced he would not have to join up until 2022 because he had a 10-year residency visa from Monaco.

It was originally thought he would have to return to his homeland within the next two years to complete his military service but that is not now the case and he can stay where he is, according to the Metro.

The chances are that he will be moving on anyway as he has yet to make much of an impression with the Gunners and a summer transfer looks to be on the cards.
