Arsene Wenger has suggested Arsenal's impending transfer business could be dictated by the fate of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Arsenal have switched their attention from Suarez to Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema as Wenger attempts to land a big-name signing before September 2, but the Uruguayan could still hold the key to that deal.
Suarez is desperate to join the Spanish giants and could see an opportunity arise once Real Madrid wrap up the signing of Gareth Bale from Tottenham.
Benzema is believed to be a realistic target after never really convincing the Bernabeu fans of his ability and Wenger is keen to resurrect his career at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the Gunners boss has acknowledged that a chain reaction - involving Madrid signing a replacement - is required to clear the path to any deal.
"That's part of the fact you need three agreements for anybody," the French boss told reporters. "It's true that it is sometimes connected with other clubs. But we have to accept that.
"We have our targets, we will try to achieve that and I am confident we will get there," he added.
"We will not go into the new season with only the number of players we have."
