Swansea are bracing themselves for an offer from Arsenal for Ashley Williams after the Gunners were hit with an injury crisis.
Arsenal have been chasing the defender all summer but have so far failed to agree a deal after Swansea slapped a £10million valuation on the Wales international's head.
Arsene Wenger was not willing to go that high but after Thomas Vermaelen and Nacho Monreal were ruled out for the start of the season, the Frenchman may have to push the boat out.
Wenger has also been concentrating all his efforts on signing Luis Suarez from Liverpool but will now try and land Williams after the full extent of Monreal's back problem was revealed earlier in the week.
Swans' boss Michael Laudrup is also stepping up his attempts to find a replacement for Williams, with Espanyol defender Hector Moreno said to be top of his wanted list.
