Traore happy with Pompey switch

ArsenalArsenal defender Armand Traore believes working with Tony Adams while on loan at Portsmouth can only improve his game.

The Arsenal youngster is on a season-long loan at Fratton Park and has impressed in the opening games of the season, particularly in the 3-0 victory over Everton last weekend.

The 18-year-old Frenchman is pleased to be working closely with Adams and he feels the former Gunners skipper can improve his defensive attributes.

He said: "Tony can bring lots of things to my game like positioning, how to defend when you're one-on-one and where I need to be when we don't have the ball. He's got so much experience.

"I'm quite happy about the two games that I've played in, even though I haven't been fully fit. I think I've done pretty well both defensively and going forward.

"I lasted an hour in the first game and then about 80 minutes in the second, so I'm pleased with that."

He added on the club's website: "The whole side were impressive in the last game. I think if everyone does their job like we did at Everton, then we can finish high in the table.

"There aren't many teams that go to Everton and win 3-0 - not even Arsenal. It was a great result."
