Carlos Vela has played down speculation linking him with a return to Arsenal after an impressive season with Real Sociedad.
The Mexican international has bagged 12 goals for the Spanish outfit to help them to seventh in La Liga and his form has not gone unnoticed in other quarters.
Vela moved to the Basque club for around £4m a year ago after struggling to secure a regular place in the Gunners first-team, but it's understood that they insisted on inserting a buy-back clause for the same fee into the deal.
The forward netted 13 times in 68 appearances during his three years in England which included a short loan spell with West Bromwich Albion.
However, the 24-year-old is adamant that he wants to remain with Sociedad and to continue his development in Spain despite talk of a move back to the Emirates Stadium.
He told Marca: "I know that Arsenal can pay £3.5m to sign me, but if Real Sociedad and I are good together, we can work something out.
"We will have to arrange something so I can stay here. I believe that we can do something so we can continue together."
