Arsene Wenger says he will struggle to find players who are not cup-tied and believes Napoli will not sell Edinson Cavani.
The Arsenal boss is looking to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes but it is easier said than done as the players have to be good enough, available at the right price and able to play in the Champions League.
Wenger believes it is almost impossible to find such a player in the January window but says the club are ready to make their move should one become available.
"We can spend money if it is for a player we think gives us a plus," he said. "We can strengthen everywhere. You can come out of any game and think, 'We gave some cheap goals away against Manchester City'. At the moment it is more important that the team remains focused. If we find something, we will do it."
Meanwhile, Wenger thinks a move for Cavani will be a no go as Napoli have so much to play for they will not entertain the idea of letting him go unless it is for huge money, something Arsenal would not pay.
"Listen, [with regards to] Cavani; Napoli are playing for the title and the Champions League in Italy," he added. "What is Napoli's interest in selling Cavani? None, unless you say, 'OK, we will pay twice the price of what the player is worth'.
"On top of that, all the players who can strengthen us are cup-tied in the Champions League."
