Wenger confirms Griezmann interest

Last Updated: Sun, 02 Mar 2014 14:12

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Real Sociedad forward Antoine Griezmann has caught his eye in Spain this season.

The 22-year-old has had an outstanding campaign so far, scoring 19 goals in all competitions for the Basque club and several of Europe's top clubs have been tracking him.

Griezmann was linked with Chelsea and Manchester United during the January transfer window, but now Wenger has been quoted as saying he is well aware of the Frenchman's abilities.

He told Telefoot TF1: "We've been following Antoine Griezmann for a long time."

The France U21 international, who is rated in the £15-20m bracket, said in January that he was happy to stay on at the club for the rest of the season but it is thought he will reassess his situation in the summer and a switch to the Emirates may well appeal.
