Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reported to be keeping tabs on FC Twente winger Eljero Elia with a view to a January swoop.

Elia has impressed for the Dutch side this season while his performances for the Holland Under-21s have not gone unnoticed at the Emirates Stadium.

Gunners boss Wenger was impressed when Elia starred in the UEFA Cup against Manchester City and the Frenchman is reported to be lining up a £4million swoop.

Wenger is also said to be keen on FC Twente's 20-year-old Brazilian centre-back Douglas as doubts surround the future of William Gallas and a double swoop in January cannot be ruled out.
