Wenger in for Bayern star

Last Updated: Mon, 17 Mar 2014 05:29

Bayern Munich's Mario Mandzukic is reported to be back on Arsenal's wanted list as Arsene Wenger targets a new striker.

Wenger is keen to bring in a top quality striker in the close season and he may need two after reports over the weekend suggested Olivier Giroud could request a move back to France.

Reports have claimed Giroud's wife has issued him with an ultimatum to return to France if he wishes to save their marriage, and it could result in Wenger letting him leave.

Mandzukic has been linked with the Gunners in the past but rumours have resurfaced suggesting he will be on the move this summer after Bayern snapped up Robert Lewandowski.

The 27-year-old will have his nose put out when Lewandowski does arrive and the Gunners could be willing to pay the £20million it will take to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
