Wenger linked with super Mario swoop

Last Updated: Tue, 04 Feb 2014 05:30

Arsenal are planning a move to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli in the summer, according to reports in Italy.

The Italian international has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League since leaving Manchester City, and Chelsea are known to be interested.

However the press in Italy now say Arsenal are in the hunt and could make a move to sign the player when the transfer window re-opens at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger had been heavily linked with a number of forwards in January but for one reason or another he did not complete a signing and will go with what he has got for the remainder of the season.

However a new striker will be top of his list again in the summer and Balotelli looks to be a possible target.
