Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with a £20million January move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender.
Reports in Germany claim the Gunners boss saw an £18.5m bid for Bender rejected by the German side over the summer but Wenger remains keen on the midfielder.
Wenger is reportedly set to return with an improved £20m bid in the January transfer window but it remains to be seen as to whether that will be enough to convince the Bundesliga side to sell.
If the Gunners do reignite their interest in the 24-year-old, they could face competition from Manchester United, who have also been credited with an interest in Bender.
