Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists his side can get the better of Champions League opponents Bayern Munich.

The Gunners have been handed a tough task in the last 16 of the Champions League, with a match-up against last year's finalists Bayern Munich.

Wenger remains upbeat on his side's chances, however, and insists Arsenal can emulate fellow Premier League side and European champions Chelsea by seeing off the German giants.

"It is a big challenge, but I believe we can do it," Wenger told Arsenal's Official Matchday Programme.

"They have played in two of the last three finals. But now Chelsea have been knocked out, who won the European Cup, in the group stage, so why should we not kick out Bayern if we put in good performances and [have] everybody available? I think we have a chance to do it."
