Dimitar Berbatov's father claims that the player is unhappy at Tottenham and wants to leave White Hart Lane.
Speculation over the player's future has been raging following a poor start to the season, but sporting director Damien Comolli dismissed talk of Berbatov moving on after holding talks with his agent Emil Dantchev earlier in the week.
Dantchev told Comolli that Berbatov is happy with Spurs and has no intention of moving on, but the player's father has thrown a spanner in the works by contradicting such claims.
According to the Daily Mirror, Berbatov senior told Bulgarian TV: "My son doesn't feel happy at Tottenham any more. He wants to leave."
As if that was not enough, a source close to the player has also been quoted as saying: "Dimitar is telling everybody that he doesn't want to stay and would like to leave in January.
"He feels that me made a mistake in the summer by not asking the club to sell him when Manchester United were interested."
