Bolton's bid to sign Celtic's Bobo Balde could pave the way for Dennis Wise to bring Lubomir Michalik back to Leeds United.
Bolton have shown their interest in Celtic defender Balde who has recently returned from a long period sidelined with a broken leg.
The defender may be involved in the African Nations Cup with Guinea, but a transfer may be sooner rather than later with his team not expected to reach the latter stages of the competition.
If the Celtic player joins Gary Megson's side, Whites target Michalik could be surplus to requirements and Wise, as one of the defender's biggest admirers is ready to pounce.
The giant 24-year-old defender impressed while on loan at the club but was called back when Bolton were experiencing an injury crisis.
"I'm after a centre-back and I think everyone knows who. I've been chasing Lubo for a long time and it would be nice if we could make something happen there." Wise said.
