Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has denied making a bid for Wigan midfielder Jason Koumas.

Wales international Koumas is rumoured to be unsettled at the JJB and Hughes has been linked with a swoop for the 28-year-old playmaker.

However, the Ewood chief has now set the record straight by declaring: "There's obviously speculation because obviously I've worked with him before."

He also told The Daily Star: "I think he's a talented boy, but we've not made a bid for Jason Koumas."
