Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's snap judgement of Martin Taylor was "childish and idiotic", according to former Gunner Sebastian Larsson.

Blues defender Taylor was involved in an incident with Croatia international Eduardo which left the striker with a badly broken leg but has insisted there was no malicious intent behind his challenge.

The injury marred the rest of the game, which ended in a 2-2 draw, but afterwards Wenger called for Taylor to be banned from football for life, although he later retracted his comments.

Larsson, though, has blasted back, saying: "It's idiotic and childish for Wenger to say things like that. Of course it's horrible to see, but everybody who knows Martin would also know he would never hurt anybody on purpose and for Wenger to say things like that just prove he is a sore loser.

"Then again, his whole team were the same. Arsenal were in a bad mood all game. They were very unsportsmanlike," he also told the Daily Mirror.
