Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock says he will give Portuguese defender Jose Fonte a few games before he makes a decision on his future.

An injury to Danny Butterfield has led to the defender getting his chance in the side and he has not let anyone down in the two games he has featured in recently.

Warnock now claims he will give the central defender until the end of the season and then decide whether to turn his loan from Benfica into a permanent deal.

He said: "I'm going to give him five or six games to make up my mind about him. He's done well the past two games and I thought he did good before when he got injured. I like him."
