Sebastian Larsson is winning his fitness race ahead of Birmingham's trip to face relegation rivals Reading on Saturday.

The former Arsenal midfielder, who has scored two stunning free-kicks already this month, limped off at half-time against Newcastle on Monday with a knee injury.

But the club have confirmed Larsson has not suffered ligament damage and is on course to play at the Madejski Stadium.

Martin Taylor is available again after serving his three-match ban for the red card against Arsenal after his tackle resulted in Eduardo sustaining a broken leg.

Blues boss Alex McLeish is expected to continue with Liam Ridgewell and Radhi Jaidi in central defence after their backs-to-the-wall second half display against Newcastle earned a point.

Blues (from): Maik Taylor, Kelly, Ridgewell, Jaidi, Murphy, Larsson, Johnson, Muamba, McSheffrey, Forssell, McFadden, Parnaby, Schmitz, Nafti, Jerome, Doyle, O'Connor, De Ridder.
