England not Ireland for White

The agent of ex-South Africa coach Jake White says his client is not interested in the Ireland job, but would like to coach England.

The World Cup winner has been out of the game since leading the Springboks to the Webb Ellis Trophy last year, after his controversial departure from his role with South Africa.

Following Eddie O'Sullivan's decision to stand down this week, White has been heavily linked with becoming the next coach of Ireland but that now appears unlikely.

White's agent Craig Livingstone has been quoted as saying "Ireland would definitely not be a consideration for Jake.

"I would be very surprised if it was an option for him. We haven't been approached by anyone in Ireland.

"He said that the only job he would be interested in is the England post."

White has made no secret of the fact that he would love to be the next coach of England and these latest comments will only add to the pressure on Brian Ashton.
