The Rugby Football Union has refused to comment on reports linking Austin Healey with a coaching role with England.

The former international has been mentioned as a possible new addition to the backroom staff, with suggestions that the 34-year-old could be asked to coach the backs.

Healey, who won 51 England caps before his retirement in 2006, has not coached at the highest level but with former Leicester team-mate Martin Johnson linked with the team manager's role, they could team up again.

When asked about the possibility of Healey joining the national team set-up, an RFU spokesman said: "We are not commenting on newspaper speculation."
