Reading keeper Marcus Hahnemann has been told he will have to wait a while longer to see if he will be offered a new contract.
The American shot stopper has played over 20 Premiership games for the club this season and was expecting to be offered a one-year extension to his present deal.
However, that is not high on manager Steve Coppell's list of priorities and the former Fulham man will just have to wait until the end of the season see what happens.
"It's obviously something Marcus wants to get off his chest," said Coppell.
"If he is upset then I'm sorry, but we are quite comfortable with the contract situation."
