Birmingham are set to welcome back Olivier Kapo to training on Monday after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The midfielder has been sidelined since suffering the injury in the draw with Arsenal on February 23, but the French international is close to a return to action.

The plan is for the former Auxerre man to join the rest of the squad for training today and he could be in contention for the home clash with Manchester City next Saturday. It looks more likely though that Kapo will make his first-team return in the big clash with Wigan on April 5.

Speaking about the player's progress, Alex McLeish said: "Kapo should be back training with us on Monday.

"And the only time we want players back training with us is if they are ready to push for a first-team spot."
